Churches Embracing Offenders puts nonviolent offenders in faith-based programs for recovery through a network of more than 65 Evansville-area churches. The organization’s founder and director, the Rev. Everett Freels, said all but one of the 48 people who have graduated from the program have stayed out of trouble.
