Queensland Catholics to join other Christians in rain prayer

"Queensland Catholics and other Christian denominations will unite with the state's Premier Peter Beattie next week in a common prayer to break the drought that has the state at crisis point."
So here's the question: Is this appropriate, or should they instead be praying, "Thy will be done, and give us faith to endure"?
